What is dichroic glass?

Dichroic glass uses ultra-thin optical coatings to selectively transmit certain wavelengths of white light while reflecting the rest, physically separating the full spectrum contained within a single beam. The result is two perfectly complementary colors—one reflected, one transmitted—that always add back together to recreate the original white light.
